Resort policy for Dogs wanting to visit Sea Gypsy Village
• Dogs MUST be trained! • Dogs may only go
6 Feb 2020Training your heart, lungs, and mind to freedive – the right way – opens up a whole new world beyond scuba diving.
If learning to freedive is something that you’ve always wanted, we’d love to help your dream come true! For most of us, the excitement of diving and plunging into the depths of the sea without any breathing equipment is like leaving planet Earth behind and entering an alien world. It is a life-changing experience. This is the point of departure to become able to see the underwater world.
Your ticket to explore that world begins with this Freediving course.

Compared to scuba diving, freediving is more liberating. You see, when scuba diving, you will have to be careful about stuff like the speed at which you descend or ascend, decompression sickness, or how long you stay down there.
As a freediver, you can go down or up at your own pace. You won’t have to worry as much about nitrogen bubbles sneaking into your bloodstream. Not even about how long you stay down there – your diving watch will be your own ability to hold your breath. So if you can breathe up good and remain restless, your body will naturally expel toxic levels of gas.
We have custom Freediving classes specially tailored for you. All you need to do is just to request a schedule with our team and that's it!
There are 3 theory sessions (1 1/2 hours each) and 3 confined pool training sessions (3 hours each) that you will need to complete before sitting for your online exam.
There is not, but we advise you to complete your online exam as soon as you can while your memory is still fresh.
Unfortunately you can’t, for safety reasons you will need to complete the Open Water Course before proceeding with your Advanced Open Water Course.
Yes it is possible to complete your Theory and pool sessions within 3 days – but we highly advise not to. Unless you are able to catch up and learn fast.
It is not advisable to complete all your pool sessions in a day as each pool session is around 2 – 3 hours. Plus, it’ll be best for you to take a short break, work on what you’ve learnt, then only proceed to the next session. Taking it 1 step at a time is always better than doing it all at once.
Yes definitely! Did I mention that we teach every day, from 9am to 9pm? Meaning, no matter what your schedule is like, we will definitely find a time that works for you.
Sure, our instructor also conducts zoom classes for theory sessions but for the confined pool training, it has to be done at the pool with an instructor.
Yes you can and you will!
Yes you do! You will get a PADI Open Water Certificate!
Trips are not included in the course fee as we want to give our students the ability to take their time and complete their training, before heading to the trip of their choice to complete their certification dive.
Basic swimming will help, as you will be able to pick up the skills quicker. But your confident level of being in the water is most important. We do offer a 1 hour basic swim assessment where we will assess your level of confidence and swimming skills before taking up your scuba diving course.
