Resort policy for Dogs wanting to visit Sea Gypsy Village
• Dogs MUST be trained! • Dogs may only go
8 Feb 2020We know that the last thing you want to be thinking about on your next dive is what if you, your child, or anyone around you starts to panic, runs out of air, loses consciousness, or needs any type of emergency rescue or medical care. Big Ocean Dive now offers Rescue Diver certification training in Kuala Lumpur to prepare you with Red Cross-level first aid skills and specialised training that could make the difference between life and death and offers amazing peace of mind.
Scuba diving enjoys a safe track record in part because of the knowledge taught in the Rescue Diver course. This new certification will give you the skills and confidence to handle any dive emergency. It’s not an easy course — it’s challenging — but it will probably end up being your most rewarding dive training experience.
PADI’s Rescue Diver Course teaches you not only about looking after yourself, but looking out for others too. This is regarded by most students, as their most valuable course to date. We would recommend every keen diver to work towards their PADI Rescue Diver certification, as you never know when your skills may come in hand. After completion of this course, you will feel like a more confident and accomplished diver all around.

Classroom Session at Big Ocean Dive:
You’ll have One Pool Session
You’ll learn how to be safe underwater, master the equipment, how to manoeuvre underwater, Rescue exercises, and tips & tricks to prepare you for your ocean dives
The last step - and the most fun - will be your open water dives
There are 3 theory sessions (1 1/2 hours each) and 3 confined pool training sessions (3 hours each) that you will need to complete before sitting for your online exam.
There is not, but we advise you to complete your online exam as soon as you can while your memory is still fresh.
Unfortunately you can’t, for safety reasons you will need to complete the Open Water Course before proceeding with your Advanced Open Water Course.
Yes it is possible to complete your Theory and pool sessions within 3 days – but we highly advise not to. Unless you are able to catch up and learn fast.
It is not advisable to complete all your pool sessions in a day as each pool session is around 2 – 3 hours. Plus, it’ll be best for you to take a short break, work on what you’ve learnt, then only proceed to the next session. Taking it 1 step at a time is always better than doing it all at once.
Yes definitely! Did I mention that we teach every day, from 9am to 9pm? Meaning, no matter what your schedule is like, we will definitely find a time that works for you.
Sure, our instructor also conducts zoom classes for theory sessions but for the confined pool training, it has to be done at the pool with an instructor.
Yes you can and you will!
Yes you do! You will get a PADI Open Water Certificate!
Trips are not included in the course fee as we want to give our students the ability to take their time and complete their training, before heading to the trip of their choice to complete their certification dive.
Basic swimming will help, as you will be able to pick up the skills quicker. But your confident level of being in the water is most important. We do offer a 1 hour basic swim assessment where we will assess your level of confidence and swimming skills before taking up your scuba diving course.
